Forty watercolors of doors hung in front of large photos from the 1880s contrast what the Colorado
mining town of Saint Elmo once was with today. Relics in 3D displays with interpretive text
show how times have changed.

HOW TO MAKE A BOOK!

This exhibit shows kids bookmaking steps using illustrations from the children’s book, “Shanleya’s Quest:
A Botanical Adventure for Kids from Ages 9 to 99.” Especially suited for libraries or schools, the lively
installation encourages career paths in publishing from writing to production, business and marketing.

THE PAGES COME ALIVE

Great for all ages and interests, this exhibit brings the ecology of the Northern Colorado Plateau to life with illustrations from “A Naturalist’s Guide to Canyon Country.” Included with the interpretive art is text from the book, humorous vignettes of the research and illustration process, along with 3D displays which can include aquatic pothole life and a vivarium with a live tarantula! Developed in cooperation with Grand Canyon Association and the National Park Service, all interpretive panels, original watercolors or framed prints are available for shows.

The concept underlying “The Naturalist’s Guide to Canyon Country” illustrations was founded in the hypothesis that looking at
artwork engenders learning which lasts. The show was developed to be used by a variety of presenters and locations,
and is as effective for a botanical garden, as a state fair, museum, coffee house or somewhere in your community?
